Commissioned to Do the Commission
We have been blessed with the opportunity to send five missionaries out from Northeast Baptist. These five will be taking the Gospel to people in Africa who have not heard the message of the Gospel, of the Creator sending His son into a world separated from Him due to sin. This Creator took on flesh, being both fully God and fully man, he became the bridge over the great chasm. He demonstrated His love by dying for our sin, and He razed from the dead to prove that mankind can have access to God.
Matt 28:18-20 says, “And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’”
Fulfilling the Great Commission given by Christ continues to demonstrate that love today. Christ has made us messengers to a lost world that needs to hear that specific message of hope and love. In turn, we show our love for Christ, and God the Father by taking His message to others. As we grow in our love for Christ through obedience, we also grow in our love for one another. The world notices the love we have for Christ and the love we have for others. John 13:35 says, “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."
We also have the opportunity to show our love for Christ and each other by caring for and ministering to each other on a regular basis. One of the ways we can grow in love for each other is to tell how much we mean to one another. The “I Love My Church” banquet is on February 9th at 5pm, in the Old Sanctuary. Come and be a part of the fellowship and worship. Take advantage of rubbing shoulders with other brothers and sisters, plus have a good meal and worship.
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith (Gal 6:10).
God Bless as You Grow in Grace,
