What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord. It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast. An Immortal, Invisible God, that’s who we serve.
Pastor Joey’s message was titled: Love: Natural or Spiritual. We compared and contrasted the Natural and Spiritual Man. Our text started at 1 Corinthians 3:1-3. The Spiritual Man is drawn to God, whereas the Natural Man is not. Paul tells the church of Corinth that he could not speak to them as spiritual men, but men of the flesh. He said he gave them the milk of the word, not solid food, because they were not mature enough, not ready to hear his message as spiritual men. There was jealousy and strife between them and they were walking as worldly men. The Spiritual Man is saved through the grace of the Spirit of God, while the Natural Man does not have this regeneration of the Spirit. The Spiritual Man lives under the influence of the Spirit. The Natural Man tries to function without the Spirit of God. The Spiritual Man is able to judge all things but the Natural Man does not have this power provided by the Holy Spirit. The Spiritual Man is able to receive the things of the Spirits, while the Natural Man has no understanding of spiritual or eternal matters; these things are foolish to him. Finally, for the Spiritual Man, the Holy Spirit teaches him all things. For the natural Man though, his highest wisdom is to live for this world. As yourself this question: Which characteristics do I display? Can you call yourself Spiritual Man or Natural Man?
