Put On Christ, Put On Love
The call of any church, as one said it, is “to know Christ and to make Him known.” Christ has no doubt begun a work inside of each one of us. This work continues throughout our lives. That same Christ that saved us has called all of us together into this thing called the church. He has called you and I specifically, to the church that is located at 619 East Lincoln known better as “Northeast Baptist”. We are mirrors reflecting Christ to each other as well as to other people. The Christ in you is showing me things through you and your life. Hopefully the Christ in me is unhindered to do the same for you through me. It is always the work of Christ. He calls us into a concerted effort to join Him.
Colossians 3:14-16 expresses this concerted effort. It says, “Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.”
As we think about the bond that Christ has called us into, let us celebrate the fact that He always affirms us in the work He is doing in us. Don’t hold back the love and appreciation for those the Lord uses to make you more like Him. By affirming them, you show your love back to Christ. Be deliberate to admonish others through testimony and faithfulness. Make the most of every opportunity to strengthen that unity here a Northeast. Join with the Church on February 11th , “I Love My Church” to celebrate and encourage
others and to be encouraged.
