What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord. It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast. His name is Master, Savior, Lion of Judah, King of the Ages, Holy Lord of Glory, His name is Life. In that name there is life and it’s life everlasting.
Our message this week was from Luke 22:1-13. Jesus had just left the Temple where He had been teaching. He is with the disciples and is setting up the Passover meal. We also see the priests and Judas. Verse 5 tells us the Pharisees are seeking a way to put Him to death, instead of preparing for the Passover meal themselves. Meanwhile, we see Judas, who has been taken over by Satan and goes to the priests, setting up a plan to betray Jesus. And we also see Jesus, who is seeking the lost to save. In verse 8 we see Jesus direction some of the disciples to prepare the Passover meal, as it had been done since the days of Moses. God, in all His wisdom and love, knew at the beginning of time that it was going to turn out this way. He knew Jesus would come to the world. He knew what would transpire between Judas and the chief priests. He knew that Jesus, the Lamb of God, would take the place of the sacrificial lambs the Israelites offered up at this time of year. These events were planned out long ago: long ago Jesus was born for a purpose; long ago God had all the details figured out for salvation; long ago Jesus came to die for the sins of the world. For my sins, your sins, everyone’s sins. Even if it was only for one person, Jesus would have still willingly faced the cross. He did this for us. Have you accepted Him and His gift of salvation? It’s never too late to call upon His name. Don’t leave Earth without asking for His salvation.
