Countdown to Christ

What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord. It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast.

History…who needs it? We do! There is a saying: Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it. So true my friend, so true. Pastor Joey’s sermon was titled “Countdown to Christ.” Schematic drawings, blueprints and scale models are all different types of plans for a project. The Bible is also a plan for a project – the project of Christ. Oh, not a plan of how to build Him, but as a countdown to His coming. In Daniel we see him (Daniel) captured for worshipping God (605 BC). Ezekiel was also captured for following God (595 BC). These “leaders” were taken captive as believers. Without these leaders with a focus, Israel started to crumble. Daniel prophesied that Israel would fall. He tries to get Israel to turn back to God, but they are determined to follow their own desires. They are destined to doom for their disobedience. Hallelujah that we can see what happened to them, learn from it and are not doomed to repeat it, but we must repent and turn to Jesus who came into the world for the sole purpose of salvation. Feel like you are repeating history? Read the guidebook.
