Joey Conway is the Pastor of Northeast Baptist.  Joey and his wife, Brenda have served Northeast Baptist since 1989. They have three children: Joseph, Micaela, and Isaiah.

Joey’s life verse is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

Joey and Brenda are graduates from Southwest Baptist University.  Joey received his masters in Religious Education from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He served Northeast from October 1989 until November 2015 as youth pastor and associate pastor.

Vision statement “to know Christ and to make Him known” expresses the drive and desire of Joey’s life. “As a Christian I am to grow in my relationship with Christ continually and share that relationship with others (2 Peter 3:18).  As I help others come to Christ and grow in their relationship with Him, we are making disciples as Christ commissioned (Matt. 28:19-20).”

Jeff Sargent is the youth pastor at Northeast Baptist Church.  He and his wife Amanda have two children, Abbigail and Elijah.  They have been involved in ministry at Northeast since 2005.  Jeff was called into vocational ministry in 2016, and is now serving as the youth pastor for our church family.  Jeff feels a burden for discipleship, families, marriages, and youth.

"If we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin. " (I John 1:7)

Northeast is a church focused on the application of God’s Word and developing disciples.  Encouraging the memorization and increasing the knowledge of God’s Word through church events throughout the week, members are molded into disciples.  Being focused on fellowship, missions, and family, members apply what they have learned and reach out into the community and beyond.

Memorizing God’s Word allows you to inscribe the words into your heart – this is the first task to becoming a disciple.  With Bible Drill and consistently studying God’s Word, Northeast provides a variety of ways to help individuals place His Words in their hearts.  In any situation, being able to access some of these profound messages from our Lord can provide hope and vigor to our everyday lives.

Delving deeper into the Holy Word can open your eyes into the mission God has for your personal life and what He has planned for His future.  Through Bible studies and church services, a foundation of knowledge is created which allows the disciple to learn and mature in their personal growth with God.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt. 5:16).”  The disciples of Northeast are equipped with the knowledge of Christian character and have God’s Word inscribed on their heart, so they become a beacon for the Lord.  Fellowships and missions provide the disciples a chance to make a difference and point to their Heavenly Father.
