What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord. It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast.  Our Children’s Handbell Choir opened worship with Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus.  This is exactly as we are called to do.  Look to Him for everything!

Today Pastor Joey took us to Acts 3:1-26.  Peter and John were headed to the temple during the daily “Hour of Prayer.”  At the Gate called Beautiful, they encounter a lame beggar.  He asks Peter and John for some money, but they basically respond, “We’re broke, but we can give you something else.”  Peter reached out his hand and told him, “Stand up and walk,” and the man was healed.  Immediately the man jumped up and walked, following them into the temple.  This was the first time he was allowed in the temple, due to being lame...

What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord.  It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast.  

Today Pastor Joey took us to Acts 2:37-47.  In the recent past we have seen Jesus accused, tried, crucified and buried.  He fulfilled His promise of resurrecting on the third day.  His followers were joy-filled to see Him again. And, just as He promised, He ascended to be with the Father.  The disciples and other followers are now gathered in Jerusalem, and waiting for what to do next.  Peter, as only Peter could, stands in front of the crowd of believers and others gathered there and begins speaking to them, proclaiming Jesus as Lord and Christ.  He steps into an evangelistic role, as we see in verse 38, pleading with the people to repent and be baptized in Jesus name, in o...

August 13, 2017 was a great day in the life of Northeast Baptist Church.  I want to say thank you for all those who helped make Northeast's 50th Anniversary a great celebration.  This than you is for those who set up, prepared food, decorated, set up the photo "stroll down memory lane," helped with parking, set up worship service, ministered through the service, served the food, and restored everything back to normal.

There were a few who were not able to celebrate that day with the rest of the body for various reasons.  I know the greater celebration will be on the other side when we celebrate our Lord and all that He has accomplished beyond what He has done here at Northeast over the last fifty years.
