What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord.  It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast. 

History…who needs it?  We do!  There is a saying: Those who don’t learn from history are destined to repeat it.  So true my friend, so true.  Pastor Joey’s sermon was titled “Countdown to Christ.”  Schematic drawings, blueprints and scale models are all different types of plans for a project.  The Bible is also a plan for a project – the project of Christ.  Oh, not a plan of how to build Him, but as a countdown to His coming.  In Daniel we see him (Daniel) captured for worshipping God (605 BC). What a wonderful day to be in the House of the Lord. It was a glorious Sunday worship here at Northeast. Our special music was a beautiful sign interpretation of “All is Well.” The words are so beautiful…All is well…Christ has come, Emmanuel…All is well. Emmanuel, “God with us.” What a comforting thought.

Our sermon theme was Newness of Life. Very appropriate that today was 1-1-17. The first day of the new year, a time for a fresh start. We often long for new things – sometimes even a new start in life. A refreshing for our souls. The new year is the perfect opportunity for the newness of life. In Romans 6:1-7, Paul asks us in order to see God’s grace more, should we continue to sin? No, no, no! This is not at all what Paul means. Once we come to Christ we are to be dead to sin. In fac...
